Worldcon
Well, I got back from Worldcon in LA on Tuesday, and only now feel up to blogging about it. That might have something to do with the 13 hours straight I spent sleeping on Tuesday night... two trans-Pacific flights in a week is a bit much.
Still, it was a great week, I did get to see a little of LA (Hollywood and its environs) and discovered that that part at least is actually very pleasant. If you have a few spare tens of millions to afford it. Otherwise it was just hotels and the convention center in Anaheim, and lots of sitting at the bar catching up with friends and making new ones. I wont single out individual people, because time spent with pretty much everyone was great fun... but I will single out the signing at the Borderlands table in the dealer's room as a highlight, for the very selfish reason that quite a lot of bookselling people from different chains came up to me and told me that Crossover was selling really well!

Good to meet you at Worldcon. I'm not quite up to blogging about it yet, being still vastly jetlagged. I miss the convention as a lifestyle. Why is there still no panel for me to attend this morning? Why am I eating things other than burgers? Unless you have strong ethical objections I shall post a link to your blog on mine.
Glad to see you made it home in one piece! I'm hoping these URLs make it through in this comment. Pictures from Worldcon's Pyr Signing at the Borderlands booth.
They are Horribly Blurry but Candid. ^^

Hey guys!
Fi, I had to move your comment behind Paul's while I deleted one post, since I somehow managed to publish this post twice... I hope this does not cause any seniority issues between you!
Paul, I only have strong ethical objections if you mention my blog in the same context as incest or folk dancing. Otherwise, it was a highlight of the con to meet you, and I'm now inspired to give Doctor Who another shot (you have no idea of the scale of this achievement, given I've been avoiding it for 30 years now). You know, you could organise your life at home as though it were a con -- burgers in the morning, panels to your cats or neighbours, get Starbucks to home deliver to your door, etc.
Fi, thanks for the photos, the links aren't coming out terribly well on my browser, but they might work better on others'. But I can just go to your website and find them from there. I just finished saying nice things about you in a post above when I noticed your comment. Maybe it's something psychic...
